Your transferred data is stored on Datashield servers using your defined encryption key by default and cannot be decrypted without this key. Datashield Professional Backup for Business offers the ultimate in data security by only permitting your secure encrypted files to be unlocked by you - Datashield does not store, nor are we able to access, client encryption keys. The backed up files are stored in military grade AES 256-bit encryption and automatically decrypted during restores. You can also store your encrypted data to a local network drive for quick recovery after a system failure.

• Security

  The data files backed up using Datashield Professional Backup for Business are encrypted on transmission using 128-bit SSL and the data files are stored by default encrypted using AES 256-bit encryption*. The files automatically decrypted during restore for easy recovery. Only you know your encryption key and your data can not be restored from Datashield Servers without it.

• File Versioning

  Each Datashield Professional Backup for Business backup creates a new backup set identified by the backup date and time. Users can restore up to 365 prior versions including the most recent version of their data files. Users can also restore latest versions of all their files or versions of files as of a specific backup set.

• Open File Backup

  Datashield Professional Backup for Business allows backup of open files including Outlook files (.pst), QuickBooks, MS-Excel, Lotus, MySql, MSSQL, Outlook Exchange and more. Often users leave their applications running that may leave backups of the related data unreliable. However, Datashield Professional Backup for Business now does reliable backups of open file data. Please note that this feature is available currently only for Windows XP, and Windows 2003 servers.

• Managed Backup Log Information

  Datashield Professional Backup for Business allows you to view data backed up in your account. Using the software interface, you can view the log file of backups/restores performed and that of files and folders deleted.

For additional redundancy, Datashield Professional Backup for Business data is constantly mirrored to an additional remote data center.   Datashield Professional Backup for Business efficiently uses your Internet bandwidth by compressing data files prior to transmission. Incremental backups are done by transferring only the modified portions of a file that was previously backed up therefor making your backups faster.

• Mapped Drive Support

  Datashield Professional Backup for Business supports backup of mapped drives in NT service mode even if the system has been logged off.

• Efficient Storage Computation

  Total storage space is calculated only for the latest version of any file and is not based on historical versions. Moreover, you can retrieve any of the previous versions of a file, storage space is calculated only for the latest version of a file. For example, if you have 30 versions of a file then storage space is calculated only for the 30th version of the file and not for the previous 29 versions.

• Data Integrity

  Each file goes through an extensive set of 128-bit MD5 checksum comparisons to ensure secure backups.

• Incremental Backups

  During an incremental backup,Datashield Professional Backup for Business backs up only the changed or modified portions of the file and hence consumes less time for backups.

• Automatic Selection

  Datashield Professional Backup for Business 'Auto Select' feature selects the list of 'most commonly used user data' and the 'most common application data types' requiring backup.

• Automatic Power off after Scheduled Backup

  A very handy feature if you have scheduled a backup and your presence is not available. You can set this option to automatically shut down the machine after the scheduled task.
